How do I register?
Click on the Register button and complete the required information. You will receive an e-mail acknowledgement from Exelixis within 24 hours confirming the new account.

Why was I prevented from registering?
Common reasons include:
Some of the information entered as part of your registration was not valid. Please see the error message and re-enter corrected information. You entered an e-mail address during your registration that has already been registered in https://ist.exelixis.com If you have not registered previously, please contact Exelixis at ISTSupport@Exelixis.com. If you have registered previously, please click on the "Forgot Password" link on the homepage of the site.

Why doesn't my login and password work?
If you have tried several times and are still unable to login, you may reset your password by clicking the "Forgot Password" link. If you are still unable to access the system, please contact an IST Manager at ISTSupport@Exelixis.com

Other common reasons include: Your account may have been disabled due to inactivity. Please contact Exelixis at ISTSupport@Exelixis.com and request that your account be reactivated. You may also not have reconciled a prior request and therefore are locked out of the system pending the reconciliation.

Can multiple researchers use the same account to submit a research request to Exelixis?
Yes, the primary Sponsor Investigator may assign/delegate one other individual to login using their own credentials to submit a research request to Exelixis on their behalf. The secondary user may be required to register to login with his or her own account within https://ist.exelixis.com.

What if I enter false information?
Providing false information or failing to answer all questions truthfully and completely may be grounds for not accepting or declining the requests, halting existing requests, or excluding organizations from participating in Exelixis' IST program.

Submitting a proposal:

What if my descriptions, agenda, study objectives, etc. do not fit into the allotted space?
You will have the opportunity to upload supporting documentation at the end of the Request Form.

What does a Request for Additional Information mean and how much time do I have to respond?
A Request for Additional Information is made when more information is needed to consider the request. This request for additional information will be sent via e-mail to the e-mail address provided by the requestor during the registration process. Please review the e-mail carefully and submit the additional information through https://ist.exelixis.com homepage. If Exelixis has not received the necessary information within 90 calendar days of the request for additional information, the original request may be closed.

May I complete part of the online application and come back to it later?
Yes. If you are unable to complete your online application in one session, you may save it and come back to it later by clicking "Save ad Draft". At any time before the submission, you will have the opportunity to come back and make changes to the application.

After proposal submission:

How will I know if my proposal was received?
E-mail notifications will only be sent to the registered user account(s) throughout the process to acknowledge receipt of proposal, to convey the review committee's decision and to request periodic study updates for previously approved studies. Once proposals are submitted, you may also log onto https://ist.exelixis.com to check for status updates.

What if I do not receive e-mail notifications?
Check SPAM and/or Junk e-mail folders. Once located right-click on the e-mail and select the option under "Junk E-mail" to "Add Senders Domain to Safe Senders list." Alternatively, you can also manually add ISTSupport@Exelixis.com to the safe senders list in your email account. If using Outlook, complete the following steps to add as a safe sender: Click on Actions, then locate the "Junk E-mail Options" Click on the tab for "Safe Senders" Click "Add", type in ISTSupport@Exelixis.com and click "OK"

Does previous support of my research by Exelixis guarantee future support?
No, each request submitted to Exelixis will be evaluated based on its individual merit. Please do not consider any request approved until you receive written confirmation from Exelixis, and all necessary parties have signed the applicable written Clinical Study Agreement.

Who can assist me with the application process or keep me apprised of the status?
The Exelixis IST Team may assist you with your request. No other Exelixis personnel may assist you with your request or give you a status update on your request. Only requests submitted through https://ist.exelixis.com will be considered. Questions can be sent to ISTSupport@Exelixis.com.

How are study protocol changes handled?
Study protocol changes must be submitted in the system when there are changes in the design and/or implementation of the study when compared to the original submission. Requests for a protocol change will be considered on a case-by-case basis, but approval is not guaranteed. For further questions, comments, and concerns, please send an e-mail to ISTSupport@Exelixis.com with the following information: Anticipated changes to the study design, Anticipated changes to the study implementation, Anticipated changes to the budget (if applicable), Anticipated changes to the personnel involved with the study (if applicable).

If it is determined that Exelixis no longer wishes to support the study based on the changes, Exelixis may choose to terminate the request post-funding.

How do I request additional funding for an ongoing study?
Requests for additional funding will be considered on a case-by-case basis, but approval is not guaranteed. For further questions, comments, and concerns please send an e-mail to ISTSupport@Exelixis.com with the following information and refer to "How are Study Protocol Changes handled?" listed above: Anticipated changes to the study, Reason for request for additional funding, Amount of additional funding requested, Total budget request for study (previously approved funding + amendment request), Updated and a detailed budget attachment

What is the Study Update Report?
The Study Update Report is used to provide information to Exelixis on the progress of the study. In accordance with the Clinical Study/Trial Agreement, a Study Update Report must be submitted on a regular basis throughout the duration of the study. Study updates must be submitted online at https://ist.exelixis.com.

What is the Final Study Report?
The Final Study Report is a detailed summary of study results. Exelixis requires that a final study report be submitted before the final milestone payment may be released. The Final Study Report must be submitted at https://ist.exelixis.com.
